Last week, I had the privilege of speaking at High Point University as an Executive in Residence within its Access to Innovators series. This program connects students with leaders shaping industries around the world. Walking across campus and meeting such engaged, thoughtful individuals reminded me why emotional intelligence sits at the core of meaningful leadership and collaboration.
Stepping into the Chief Experience Officer role at Linder over the past 100 days has reinforced my belief in the power of great design can transform events into catalysts for connection and change. As noted in my previous post, one of my priorities has been to elevate creativity and design across everything we do, to set a new standard for “strategic convening” in the event industry. Earlier this month, Linder took a major step forward with the creation of the Creative Director role.
This summer I took my teenagers to Greece, where I spent all four years of high school. Athens was the most powerful stop. Walking them through my old neighborhood in Paleo Psychiko, showing them my school and favorite gathering spots, I realized something: the way we come together has not changed in thousands of years.
One hundred days! That’s how long I’ve been wearing the Chief Experience Officer hat at Linder Global Events. And let me tell you, it’s been a whirlwind. A good whirlwind, where you come out a little windswept but grinning ear to ear. These past few months have been all about listening, learning, and as always, dreaming big.
