At Linder, we believe in the importance of making a difference and positively impacting the communities where we live and serve.  As we immerse ourselves in the vibrant tapestry of Black History Month, it’s a perfect opportunity to spotlight local organizations embodying empowerment and racial justice. One standout is the YWCA National Capital Area.

We stand firmly behind the YWCA National Capital Area’s mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace and dignity for all. The YWCA has been an unwavering ally for women, girls, and people of color in Washington, DC, providing vital support for over a century. As the COO of Linder Global Events and a proud YWCA National Capital Area Board of Directors member, I’m honored to share some of their remarkable work.

We proudly support the YWCA National Capital Area’s approach, which is rooted in a holistic, strategic, and innovative history. From their food pantry to their commitment to youth mentoring, career education, advocacy, and racial justice, their initiatives address critical needs with compassion and effectiveness.

Linder continues to look for ways to participate in this commitment from volunteering at the YWCA’s holiday workshop, a heartwarming reminder of the power of giving back this March, we eagerly anticipate volunteering again, supporting the EmpowerGirls initiative—a mentorship program equipping high school girls with essential life skills.

As we celebrate Black History Month, let’s honor the rich contributions and heritage, reflect on past struggles and triumphs, and commit to the ongoing fight for equality and justice. Supporting organizations like the YWCA National Capital Area allows us to be catalysts for positive change in our communities. Together, let’s champion diversity, empower women, and eliminate racism—not just this month but every day of the year. Learn more or get involved at
