Since it’s establishment by and Act of Congress in 2003, the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) has created a critical portal through which to view America’s history. Over the course of four years, Linder managed the production and execution of more than 17 opening events.
On September 24, 2016, Linder and NMAAHC welcomed supporters to celebrate and commemorate freedom on the anniversary of three defining milestones in African American History: the 150th Anniversary of the Ratification of the 13th Amendment, 150th Anniversary of the End of the Civil War, and the 50th Anniversary of the Passage of the Voting Rights Act.
Originally brought on as consultants to help frame the types of events the Museum should be considering for this historic opening, Linder’s involvement evolved into a production contract to execute the series of events. Through industry relationships, production expertise, and strategic thinking, Linder worked with the Museum to design and execute one of the most significant openings in Smithsonian history.
