This week – the first of 2016! – Vice President of Operations Megan Cumming starts us off strong in the New Year with her #LinderPodcastPicks. From entertaining and invisible activity to tactics and tools for success, Megan shares her playlist for what’s worth listening to and why:
The Dinner Party Download
produced by American Public Media
The Dinner Party Download helps you win your weekend dinner parties! Hosts Rico Gagliano and Brendan Francis Newnam guide you through a fast and funny hour of culture, food and conversation with their unconventional wisdom. Deemed “public radio’s arts & leisure section,” every episode teaches listeners a new joke, lesser known history, a themed cocktail recipe, and features relevant artists (such as Pharrell Williams, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Martin, etc.), answers to etiquette quandaries, exposure to food trends, and finally, the latest and greatest from the music industry.
Beautifully produced and fast paced – you will be hooked on this delicious podcast!

99% Invisible is a tiny radio show about design, architecture and the 99% invisible activity that shapes our world. Each episode is a sound-rich deep dive into a single topic. Roman Mars, named one of the 100 Most Creative People in 2013 by Fast Company, is host and creator. His melodic voice mixed with in-depth research and reporting on an intriguing but not-well-known topic makes this one of my favorite podcasts. Make sure you check out episode 110: Structural Integrity about the prominent Citicorp Center, episode 191: Worst Smell in the World about liquid ass (not a joke!) and episode 188: Fountain Drinks about the creation of water fountains!
Launched in August of 2015, Talking Events is the brand new podcast produced by Event Industry News. Each episode features an invited panel of guests discussing topics relating to the events, including Greener Events, Event Safety, Gamification and Event Technology. Great insight into challenges others in the industry are facing and how they are solving them.
Tim Ferriss is a self-experimenter and bestselling author, best known for The 4-Hour Workweek hosts this investigative podcast. Each episode, he deconstructs world-class performers from eclectic areas (investing, sports, business, art, etc.) to extract the tactics and tools you can use. He’s a terrific interviewer and is able to translate success behaviors and patterns for his guests’ personal stories for the listeners’ benefit. Make sure you check out these two episodes “Comedy’s Dynamic Duo, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg” and “The Tattooed Heretic of Wine and Whiskey, Richard Betts.” Both are amazing.
